Desalination bath / Buffer bath

This robust buffer bath with built-in elevator belt can also be used as a desalination bath thanks to its double-walled construction, for example in an olive processing line.

  • Constructed in sandblasted stainless steel 316L.
  • Double-walled bath with perfo inner plate.
  • Integrated belt over length of bath, running over bottom and used as an elevator belt.
  • Modular dewatering belt with cleats.
  • Stainless steel spray tube at top of conveyor to rinse product.
  • Various inspection and cleaning hatches.
  • Linear adjustable overflow gutter.

In the case of use as a desalination bath, the following process takes place:

  • Olives are supplied salted on the production line.
  • Product is desalted by soaking overnight in a water-brine mixture.
  • Pump system provides high circulation to facilitate soaking process.
  • Desalting baths are always installed in duplicate, to optimize soaking time with different batches.
  • After the desalting bath, a similar buffer bath is installed so that production can be continuously fed from desalinated product.
